START WITH YOUR SITE

Your site.
Your charging options.

Practical assessment. Clearly agreed next steps.

A CLEAR STARTING POINT

One free visit.
An informed next step.

The initial discussion and screening are free and limited to a single site visit. We present a basic outline of the opportunity and establish whether you would like to progress.

Before detailed surveys, inspections, monitoring or design begins, we agree the scope, deliverables, costs and who will pay. ComTek can undertake technical work within its qualifications and competence, with any required external specialist input included in the agreed costs. Additional work is agreed before it proceeds.

Profit share

An appropriate share of project and ongoing costs is agreed alongside the profit share. The proposal defines the costs deducted and how profit is calculated.

Lease

ComTek would normally take on most costs and retain most operating profit, with the host receiving agreed rent for the space.

A blended arrangement

Costs, responsibilities and returns can sit between these routes, according to the agreement. No fixed allocation is assumed before assessment.

Host an EV charger

Have parking? Explore its potential.

EV charging can give customers another reason to visit your business and make the time they spend parked more useful. ComTek Charge is developing a local charging network, beginning in Strathclyde, and welcomes enquiries from businesses, landowners and property managers.

We explore arrangements including leasing parking spaces, sharing charging revenue and developing commercial partnerships. The right approach depends on your location, customer demand, electrical supply and the practical requirements of operating the site.

From a few destination charging bays to a larger charging opportunity, we start with a conversation about your premises and priorities. Where a site is viable, a proposal will explain the intended funding, ownership, installation and operating responsibilities, alongside the commercial terms.

Tell us about your location and explore whether hosting could work for you. Funding, rental income and revenue are subject to assessment and agreement.

EV charging site surveys and feasibility

Understand the site before choosing the chargers.

A successful charging location needs more than spare parking spaces. It needs a layout and charging approach that work for the business, its customers and the available electricity supply.

Our site assessment considers parking availability, vehicle movements, pedestrian access, opening hours, visibility, nearby amenities and how long potential users are likely to stay. We also explore land ownership or lease arrangements, existing charging provision and opportunities for future expansion.

The assessment helps identify whether destination AC charging, rapid DC charging or a combination warrants further investigation. It can also consider solar carports or rooftop solar coupled with batteries as part of a wider site opportunity.

The outcome is a practical view of the site’s potential, the main constraints and the next steps needed before a detailed proposal.

Electrical supply and capacity assessment

Understand what power is available—and what your plans may require.

EV charging and solar should be considered alongside the electricity your business already uses. Understanding your existing supply and spare capacity helps establish what may be achievable and where further work could be needed.

An electrical capacity assessment considers available supply information, existing demand, proposed charging loads and the potential for managing demand across the site. Where appropriate, it can identify the need for monitoring, specialist investigation or discussions with the electricity network operator.

We aim to explain the options clearly, including whether a phased installation, load management or a supply upgrade should be explored.

ComTek undertakes assessment work within its qualifications and competence, bringing in specialist input where required. Any electrical inspection, testing or design work has a separately agreed scope. An initial capacity review does not replace a formal electrical condition report or detailed installation design.

Workplace and fleet charging

Charging that fits the working day.

Staff, visitors and business vehicles use parking differently. Workplace and fleet charging should reflect when vehicles arrive, how long they remain on site and when they need to be ready for their next journey.

We explore charging requirements with employers and fleet operators, considering vehicle numbers, daily journeys, parking schedules, available electricity and plans for future growth.

For workplaces, this may involve charging for employees and visitors. For fleets, it may involve allocating available power around operating schedules and identifying where faster charging is justified.

Access controls, payment arrangements, usage reporting and billing requirements can form part of the brief. Equipment, software capabilities and ongoing support arrangements will be confirmed in the proposal. Start with the vehicles you have today and the changes you expect to make.

Energy monitoring and efficiency

Understand how your business uses electricity.

A clearer picture of electricity demand can help a business make informed decisions about EV charging, solar and future energy requirements.

We explore how energy monitoring could identify patterns in your consumption, including periods of high demand, overnight usage and the relationship between operating hours and electricity use. Where suitable data is available, this can help assess opportunities to schedule charging, manage competing loads and make better use of on-site generation.

The review can draw on electricity bills, meter information and agreed monitoring work. Findings distinguish measured consumption from estimates and explain where more information is needed.

The aim is a practical set of opportunities for further investigation, with potential savings assessed against the cost and requirements of making changes.

Costs, benefits and feasibility reports

A clear basis for deciding what to do next.

Before committing to EV charging or solar, a business needs to understand the opportunity, the likely costs and the uncertainties.

Our feasibility report brings together the findings relevant to your site. Depending on the agreed scope, this may include parking and layout considerations, electrical capacity, potential charging demand, estimated solar generation, battery storage and the options worth pursuing.

Financial comparisons can consider installation and operating costs, electricity use, maintenance, potential charging income, host payments or energy savings. Reports clearly state their assumptions and show how results could change with different levels of usage, electricity prices or project costs.

The report concludes with recommended next steps, including any further surveys, specialist advice or permissions needed. It supports an informed decision; it does not guarantee income, savings or investment returns.
